Designing a friendly experience for pension, savings, and investment

Users needed a way to get directly involved with their pension, savings, and investment funds. It couldn't feel complicated or distant. I led the UX research and product strategy to make that possible.

Capi, the pension and investment app

The challenge

Pension and investment products are inherently complex and often feel inaccessible. The goal was to design an experience that was genuinely friendly and reliable, one that made users feel in control of their financial future, not intimidated by it.

Process

01 · Extreme persona & customer journey

We created an extreme persona using prior user research and mapped the ideal customer journey. This approach let us cover all user types and accelerate delivery of the design concept.

Customer journey during the service: from downloading the app to confirming a simulation, with the user’s emotional curve

02 · Value proposition workshop

Ran a workshop to align the team on the core value proposition before moving into flows and screens.

03 · Defining the MVP

With developers and product owners, we ran an MVP prioritization workshop, measuring business value, development effort, and user value for each feature to define scope.

MVP prioritization of the login flow: splash, Capital client check, RUT and password sign-in, onboarding, transfer button, password recovery, each rated by effort, user value and business value

04 · User flow

After prioritization, we defined the user flow for the MVP, mapping every step from entry to completion.
